Fannie Lim
Background
Daughters Of Tomorrow is a Singapore-based charity that offers personalised support to women from low-income families, helping them secure regular and sustainable employment by addressing practical challenges through individual coaching and community resources.
The challenges according to the client
As the leader of my recently expanding charity, I was experiencing a sense of overwhelm and inadequacy. Our team had grown from 12 to 20 individuals, and the pandemic presented new challenges that demanded additional operational resources.
Though I felt a strong sense of ownership and responsibility towards the mission and my team, I couldn’t help but question my capability to handle the task at hand. It’s possible that my lack of confidence, experience, or past misconceptions were contributing to these doubts.
The Goal
To carry out her responsibility well and at the same time, enjoy the learning and leading process.
When Fannie stepped up to lead her charity, Daughters Of Tomorrow, she was determined to make a difference. She poured her heart and soul into the role, investing in her team and striving to serve as many women as possible.
But as the pressure mounted, Fannie began to feel like she was falling short. Despite her best efforts, she still felt inadequate to carry out the tasks required of this position. She knew she needed to take action before things became too overwhelming.
That’s when Fannie decided to embark on a one-year coaching program with Helena. Through this transformative experience, she gained invaluable insights into her own thought patterns and learned to let go of what was holding her back.
With this journey of self-discovery, Fannie emerged stronger and more mindful than ever before. She now approaches every decision with confidence and clarity, both in her personal and professional life. With a renewed sense of purpose, she’s proud to lead Daughters Of Tomorrow and make a meaningful impact in the lives of countless women.
Conclusion and results according to Fanny
I’m thrilled that I’ve grown immensely in my leadership role over the past year. I’ve become more accepting of my unique leadership style, which differs from my predecessor, and have helped my team adapt to this change. Others have taken note of my increased steadiness and confidence, and our marketing efforts have flourished.
